Askam station is the first stop leaving Barrow in Furness travelling North on the Cumbrian Coast line towards Carlisle via Millom and Workington. The journey takes you from the lush lowlands of the Furness Peninsular to the fells of Whicham Valley and Bootle, via Sellafield to the contrasting Whitehaven coastline where the railway is fringed by the sea through the historic ports of Whitehaven, Workington, Maryport and then to the Roman City of Carlisle. A busy commuter train to Sellafield and ideal for a visit to ‘The Prince of Wales, Foxfield’.
